At EMR, we make it our mission to utilise our considerable knowledge and influence within the metal recycling industry for the greater good.
The EMR way is about caring for our people and our communities. We're a global company with local roots; each one of our locations and the staff we employ are integral to the communities in which they are based.
Whether it’s empowering local communities, inspiring the next generation or encouraging environmental change, our corporate giving programme aims to make a positive and lasting contribution through engagement, collaboration and measurable action.
Building Brighter Futures Fund
In the heart of communities across the UK lies the untapped potential of countless young minds. The Building Brighter Futures Fund aims to ignite the dreams of these often-overlooked youths. We support UK charities, Community Interest Companys (CICs) and small groups set up for charitable purposes that share the belief by funding employment, education or health and social care projects that help local young people to see and reach their full potential.

Recylabots
Earth’s natural resources are under threat; it is estimated that sources of virgin metals could run out within a century, yet demand continues to increase. Educating children at an early age on the benefits of recycling can be a powerful tool for encouraging vital, long-term changes in behaviour.
Focussing on 8 to 12-year-olds, we have developed several initiatives aimed at inspiring the next generation. These include:
Recyclabots: A schools' educational programme in partnership with Currys PC World; part of EMR's programme to inspire the next generation.
“We want to inspire children to make positive environmental changes by recycling metal and old or unused tech, such as phones, hair dryers and household waste metal. With our ‘Recyclabots’ schools programme, children can learn about the importance of metals and the programme will inform a generation who we hope will make recycling a natural part of their everyday life.”

EMR sites support their local areas by enabling staff to take part and support their local community clean up events. It is incredible just how much waste can be collected; often several huge skips can be filled in a day!
We make a point of creating quality sustainable careers for decent, hard-working people, irrespective of their background, by supporting them with training and development. See the latest EMR vacancies on our dedicated jobs portal.
